If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to fill in a form for the practice nurse to organise your immunisation requirements at least 6-8 weeks before departure. Information required will include which countries and areas you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
Some immunisations take several weeks until they start to provide protection and for this reason any travel form request received less than 6 weeks before departure date cannot be accepted by the practice. If you are travelling in 6 or less weeks you must contact a Travel Clinic for advice (see below).
Each person travelling must complete a form which can be collected at reception. The practice will only provide those immunisations allowed by the NHS. Other immunisations would need to be provided by a Travel Clinic.
Many travel medicines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge. This is because not all travel medicines are included in the services provided by the NHS.
